Job summary

Evolution Mining is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for Ernest Henry Operations. You will manage geotechnical risk and support underground stability, working with operational teams to optimise mine outcomes.

Based at Ernest Henry, you’ll conduct inspections, seismic interpretation and ground support recommendations, with strong exposure to mine design reviews and planning. FIFO from major hubs on an 8/6 roster is available.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining or Civil Engineering; or Geological Engineering.
• 3–8 years’ experience in mining geomechanics or related consulting.
• Experience in underground or open pit mining; knowledge of rock mechanics and ground support systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor geotechnical risks across underground operations.
• Conduct underground inspections and geotechnical assessments.
• Collect, analyse and interpret geotechnical/seismic data.
• Review excavation designs and ground support requirements.
• Support mine planning and sequencing through geotechnical analysis.
• Contribute to audits, compliance and continuous improvement.
