Argo Natural Resources’ Ironbark No.1 Mine in Queensland’s Bowen Basin is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to provide critical engineering support on underground coal operations. The role focuses on planning, risk management, monitoring, and reporting to improve on-site safety and performance.

You will lead geotechnical investigations, develop Strata Support plans, collaborate with geology and mining teams, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geotechnical or civil engineering.
• Experience in geotechnical engineering within Underground coal mining.
• Knowledge of risk management and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and management of geotechnical risks.
• Perform geotechnical assessments, design and reviews, including mapping and sampling.
• Develop and implement geotechnical monitoring programs.
• Collaborate with geology, mining and operations teams.
• Prepare geotechnical reports and present findings to management.
• Develop strata support plans and audit operation alignment with safety plans.
