BHP is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join the Caval Ridge operation in Queensland. You will support mine planning and geotechnical design, providing expert advice to operations and planning teams.
The role focuses on safety, risk management, and stability assessments for open-cut coal mining, with an 8/6 roster and on-site work in Bowen Basin.
A degree in geological or mining engineering is required along with hands-on experience and RPEQ status is valued.
Competenze
- Bachelor's degree in geological/mining/civil engineering; Master’s in geotechnical acceptable.
- Minimum 1.5 years in an operational mine environment.
- Experience in mine geotechnical analysis and slope design.
- RPEQ status or working towards it preferred.
Mansioni
- Provide geotechnical leadership for open-cut mine design and execution.
- Perform stability assessments and design for mine planning.
- Issue hazard reports and monitor active mining areas.
- Ensure compliance with relevant acts and regulations.
