Job summary

Davidson, a leading government organisation in Victoria, seeks a Geospatial Information Officer to support the development and administration of enterprise GIS platforms, delivering high-quality spatial analysis, mapping, and asset data services.

You will work with operational teams to ensure spatial data accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with business needs, while creating maps, dashboards, and spatial outputs for operational and strategic purposes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in GIS or geospatial science.
• Experience with GIS and asset management systems.
• Strong spatial analysis, reporting and cartography.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
• Government sector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide GIS application support and troubleshooting for internal users.
• Maintain and enhance corporate spatial datasets and databases.
• Perform spatial analysis, cartography, data capture, and reporting.
• Support asset management functions through asset data collection, validation, and integration.
• Create high-quality maps, dashboards, and spatial outputs for operational and strategic purposes.
• Assist with cadastral database maintenance and quality assurance activities.
• Develop user guides and deliver training to GIS users across the organisation.
• Manage GIS data requests and support enterprise GIS initiatives.

About You

You will be a hands-on GIS professional with strong technical capability and a customer-focused approach.

• Tertiary qualifications in GIS, Geospatial Science or a related discipline.
• Proven experience working with GIS and Asset Management systems.
• Strong proficiency with:
  • ArcGIS Pro
  • QGIS
  • AutoCAD Map 3D
  • FME
  • Intramaps
• Knowledge of spatial databases and spatial data management principles.
• Experience performing spatial analysis, reporting, and map production.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
• Experience within Government.
• Exposure to asset management systems and processes
