Job summary

The Department of Transport and Planning in Victoria is seeking a skilled geospatial technologist to design and build complex spatial technology solutions. You will provide technical advice, customer support and manage data publication through ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server and Digital Twin Victoria.

Key tasks include developing and maintaining scripts, resolving technical issues, supporting technology projects, and ensuring delivery meets quality standards.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in geospatial or related discipline.
• Significant experience with FME, ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, ArcGIS Online/Server, Python, SQL and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Designs and builds complex spatial technology solutions and publishes data through platforms like ArcGIS Online/Server and Digital Twin Victoria.
• Develops and maintains scripts and programs, resolves technical issues within SLA, supports technology projects and design groups.
• Contributes to process improvements, follows good design practices, and performs other duties consistent with the role and capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• The role also develops and maintains scripts and programs, resolves technical issues within agreed service levels, supports technology projects and design groups, and ensures solutions meet quality and service standards.
• It contributes to process improvements, follows good design practices, and performs other duties consistent with the role and capabilities.
• Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.

• Qualifications and experience.
• A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent practical experience in geospatial or a related discipline (mandatory).
• Significant experience with technologies including FME, ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, ArcGIS Online/Server, Python, SQL and Amazon Web Services (mandatory).
