Job summary

The University of Sydney is offering a part-time (0.2 FTE) Associate Lecturer Geosciences (PhD Teaching Fellow) position on the Camperdown Campus. The role supports teaching and learning while candidates continue their PhD studies, with training and mentoring provided.

Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Sydney and demonstrate a passion for teaching, GIS proficiency, and strong communication skills. The base salary is pro-rata at AU$93,424 p.a.

Qualifications

• Honours or Masters in Geoscience or related areas.
• Enrolled in a PhD degree at the University of Sydney for the duration of the appointment.
• Interest and passion for teaching with tutoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences meeting education-focused staff standards.
• Deliver in-person practical classes, tutorials, workshops and activities for large first-year units.
• Develop, deploy and evaluate learning resources and training materials for casual staff.
• Actively engage with student feedback and evaluations of teaching practice.
• Suggest and implement improvements in teaching and learning; stay current with best practices.
