Job summary

NSW Health Pathology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the Molecular Medicine Department at John Hunter Hospital on a temporary full time basis. The role involves performing genomic testing in SNP-microarray, FISH and karyotyping within a sophisticated Genomics Laboratory.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Knowledge and experience delivering pathology services including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems.
• Ability to work in a team and autonomously to deliver results within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) as directed.
• Undertake preparation of materials and maintenance of equipment in line with lab processes.
