Job summary

Berkeley Vale Private Hospital is seeking a General Services Officer to join our housekeeping team on a casual basis, with early starts at 5:30am and weekend availability required. You will help maintain a clean, safe and hygienic hospital environment, perform routine cleaning, restock supplies and follow all safety protocols to ensure patient and staff wellbeing.

Ideal candidates are reliable, detail‑oriented and able to work independently as part of a supportive team in a busy healthcare

Qualifications

• Infection prevention knowledge is desirable.

About the Role

As a valued member of our team, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic hospital environment for patients, visitors and staff. Your duties will include:

• Cleaning patient rooms, common areas, bathrooms and other hospital facility areas to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
• Replenishing supplies and consumables as required.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control.
• Following all hospital safety procedures, policies and protocols.
• Working in a friendly and supportive manner to contribute to a positive environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.

About You

We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining a clean and safe healthcare environment. You will be able to work independently, demonstrate attention to detail and contribute positively to the team.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Previous cleaning experience (highly regarded).
• Understanding of infection control principles (desirable).
• Be reliable, honest and able to work independently.
• Be available to work early morning shifts and weekends.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
