Job summary

Kareena Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Environmental Services Cleaner & Waste Handler to join our team on a casual basis. You will clean clinical and non-clinical areas, safely handle and dispose of waste, and operate cleaning machinery in accordance with infection control standards.

Qualifications

Job description

Kareena Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Environmental Services Cleaner & Waste Handler to join our team on a casual basis.

About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning clinical and non-clinical areas, safe handling and disposal of waste, collection and distribution of linen, and the safe operation of cleaning machinery in accordance with infection control standards and hospital policies.

Working as part of a collaborative Environmental Services team, you will help maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the hospital. You will be accountable for your designated cleaning responsibilities and contribute to achieving team goals across each allocated shift.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning clinical and non-clinical areas in accordance with hospital policies and infection control standards.
• Safely handling and disposing of waste.
• Collecting and distributing linen.
• Operating cleaning equipment and machinery safely and effectively.
• Following Workplace Health and Safety requirements and identifying potential hazards.
• Working collaboratively with team members to ensure cleaning duties are completed to a high standard.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience in hospital and theatre cleaning, a passion for delivering a high standard of customer service, and a commitment to upholding Ramsay's core values. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment will be key to this role.

You will also bring:

• An understanding of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• The ability to identify hazards and follow safe work practices.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Flexibility and availability to work across morning, afternoon and evening shifts, including weekends, as required.
• Experience in the healthcare industry (desirable).
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (desirable).
