Job summary

Castlecrag Private Hospital is seeking a reliable Housekeeping Assistant to join the Environmental Services team on a casual basis. You will maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the hospital, ensuring a safe and confortable environment for patients, visitors and staff.

You will work across morning, afternoon and evening shifts, use hospital systems confidently, and may step into leadership tasks when required. A focus on safety and quality service is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitisation of hospital areas including patient rooms and common spaces
• Follow established cleaning procedures and use cleaning equipment safely
• Monitor stock of cleaning supplies and report low levels
• Empty and replace waste bins and dispose of waste per hospital procedures
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests from clinical and administrative staff
• Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to management
• Adhere to health and safety procedures including handling clinical waste as required

Castlecrag Private Hospital is seeking a reliable and motivated Housekeeping Assistant to join our Environmental Services team on a casual basis.

About the Role

In this role, you will support our clinical operations by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation throughout the hospital. Your work will play an important role in ensuring a safe, clean and comfortable environment for our patients, visitors and staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing daily cleaning and sanitisation of hospital areas, including patient rooms, waiting areas, bathrooms and shared spaces.
• Following established cleaning procedures and using cleaning equipment and supplies safely and effectively.
• Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting low stock levels as required.
• Emptying and replacing waste bins and disposing of waste in accordance with hospital procedures and relevant regulations.
• Responding promptly to cleaning requests from clinical and administrative staff.
• Reporting maintenance issues, damage and potential safety hazards to management.
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures, including the safe handling and disposal of clinical waste where required.
