Bethanie is recruiting a General Manager – Work, Health and Safety to lead the development and delivery of our WHS strategy. This senior role partners with executive leaders to strengthen governance, uplift leadership capability and embed a proactive safety culture across diverse services and locations.

The ideal candidate will bring tertiary WHS qualifications and a proven ability to drive strategic safety outcomes in a highly regulated environment. Flexible, hybrid work options available in WA.

We're seeking an experienced General Manager – Work, Health and Safety to lead the development and delivery of Bethanie's work health, safety and wellbeing strategy across our diverse operations.

Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, this senior leadership role will partner closely with operational and executive leaders to strengthen safety governance, uplift leadership capability and embed a contemporary, proactive safety culture across Bethanie’s diverse services and locations.

• Permanent full-time employment, based at our West Perth office.

The role

In this strategic leadership role, you will:

• Lead a high-performing safety team spanning WHS, injury management and emergency management functions.

• Partner with leaders across the business to strengthen accountability and capability in health and safety.

• Lead and evolve Bethanie's Work Health and Safety strategy, frameworks and systems.

• Drive continuous improvement in safety performance, governance and organisational risk management.

• Provide expert advice on complex safety, compliance and legislative matters.

About you

You are a strategic and collaborative leader with a strong track record of influencing positive safety outcomes within a complex and diverse organisation.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety, Risk Management or a related discipline.

• Significant experience leading organisational safety strategies and management systems.

• Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders to drive cultural and operational change.

• Strong leadership capability with experience developing and mentoring high-performing teams.

• Deep knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and contemporary safety practices.

• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.

• Experience interpreting data and insights to improve organisational performance and decision-making.

Experience within aged care, healthcare or another highly regulated environment will be highly regarded.
