Job summary

Michael Page in Melbourne is seeking a senior asset management leader to drive the strategy and performance of a portfolio of premier retail and lifestyle assets across the region. The role focuses on maximizing value through P&L stewardship, budgeting, and long-term asset optimization.

You will collaborate with leasing, marketing and development teams to enhance tenant performance, footfall and guest experiences, while overseeing operations, safety and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Economics, Real Estate, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in retail asset management, mall/destination assets, or CRE.
• Proven track record managing large-scale retail or mixed-use assets.
• Strong understanding of tenant performance, leasing collaboration, and asset optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution of operational, commercial and financial performance for a portfolio of retail and lifestyle assets.
• Manage asset-level P&L, budgeting, forecasting, Capex planning and Opex optimization.
• Develop and implement asset management strategies to maximize revenue and long-term value.
• Monitor tenant trading performance and collaborate with leasing teams to optimize tenant mix.
• Partner with retailers and marketing to drive footfall, engagement and sales growth.
• Oversee day-to-day asset operations including facilities, security, cleaning, waste management, and safety.
• Produce regular asset management reports covering financials, operations and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct market research, benchmarking, and retail analysis to identify growth opportunities.

Job Description

• Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, and retail trade analysis to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Partner with development and project management teams on asset enhancements, repositioning initiatives, and capital projects.
• Lead and develop cross-functional teams while ensuring operational excellence and best-in-class customer experiences across all assets.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Economics, Real Estate, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience within retail asset management, shopping mall management, destination management, or commercial real estate.
• Proven experience managing large-scale retail, lifestyle, mixed-use, or destination assets.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, tenant performance management, tenant mix strategy and asset optimization.
• Demonstrated experience managing P&L responsibilities, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage retailers, operators, service providers, and senior leadership.
