Job summary

Hastings People seeks a General Manager for a newly renovated Surry Hills venue. You will own the opening phase and shape the culture, ensuring exceptional guest experiences from day one. You will work with senior leadership and a seasoned bar team to lead operations, people, and commercial performance.

Key focus areas include establishing systems, developing a high-performing front-of-house team, driving service standards, and delivering the venue's creative and financial vision.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a General Manager or senior venue leader in a premium hospitality environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and confidence managing budgets, labour and venue performance.
• Experience with beverage-led operations, entertainment venues or sophisticated bar environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the venue through opening and beyond, building an operating culture and exceptional guest experience.
• Oversee all aspects of venue operations, people, commercial performance and service standards.
• Establish operational systems, standards and procedures for a pre-opening and mature venue.
• Build and motivate a high-performing front-of-house team and drive service excellence across beverage, entertainment and guest experience.
• Manage venue performance across revenue, labour, costs and profitability.
