Job summary

Palm Beach Soccer Club on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our community licensed club and drive a sustainable future for the organisation.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will oversee financial performance, people, customer experience, compliance, facilities and commercial operations with a hands-on leadership approach.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a senior management or General Manager role.
• Experience within a licensed club, hospitality, community organisation or similar environment.
• Strong financial and commercial management skills.
• Experience managing employees, supervisors and/or department managers.
• Budgeting, financial reporting and cost control.
• Understanding liquor, gaming, WHS and compliance obligations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage performance and work with a Board of Directors.
• High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The General Manager will provide leadership across the Club's operations, including:

• Financial management, budgeting and achievement of financial targets
• Staff leadership, recruitment, training and performance management
• Rostering and labour-cost management
• Liquor, gaming, WHS and other regulatory compliance
• Customer service and member experience
• Bar, gaming and food and beverage operations
• Facilities, maintenance and asset management
• Supplier and contractor management
• Marketing, membership engagement and revenue development
• Operational systems, policies and procedures
• Risk management and incident management
• Board reporting and implementation of Board decisions

The successful applicant will be expected to establish clear standards, ensure managers and employees are accountable for their responsibilities, and proactively identify and address operational, financial and compliance issues.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a capable and commercially minded manager who can take ownership of the Club's operations and provide strong leadership across the organisation.

You will ideally have:

• Demonstrated experience in a senior management or General Manager role
• Experience within a licensed club, hospitality, community organisation or similar environment
• Strong financial and commercial management skills
• Experience managing employees, supervisors and/or department managers
• Experience with budgeting, financial reporting and cost control
• An understanding of liquor, gaming, WHS and other relevant compliance obligations
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to manage performance and establish accountability
• Experience developing and implementing operational systems and procedures
• The ability to work constructively and professionally with a Board of Directors
• High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality

Relevant qualifications in business, management, hospitality, finance or a related field will be highly regarded.
