Located in the heart of the beautiful Adelaide Hills, Hahndorf Discovery Parks offers a charming country escape just a short drive from Adelaide. Surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, local produce and the historic village of Hahndorf, the park provides a relaxed setting for families, couples and holidaymakers. With a range of accommodation, recreational facilities and easy access to the region’s renowned food, wine and attractions, Hahndorf is a destination where guests can relax, explore and experience the best of the Adelaide Hills.

The Role

As the General Manager, you will take the reins of a high-performing tourism and accommodation operation, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving sustainable business growth.

Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you’ll lead an experienced leadership team, work closely with key stakeholders and ensure operational excellence across all areas of the property.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering consistently high standards across accommodation, food and beverage, guest services, and resort facilities.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing department managers and frontline teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
  • Driving financial performance through effective budgeting, cost management, revenue optimisation, and strategic decision-making.
  • Developing strong relationships with local tourism bodies, suppliers, community stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, workplace health and safety requirements, food safety standards, and company policies.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing initiatives that enhance both guest satisfaction and commercial performance.
  • Building a positive, accountable, and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Representing the property and the G’Day Group within the local Hahndorf and Adelaide Hills tourism community.
About You

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on hospitality leader who thrives in dynamic environments and understands what it takes to operate a successful accommodation and tourism business.

You will be innovative, commercially focused, customer-centric, and passionate about developing people.

To succeed in this role,
  • Extensive experience as a General Manager within a high-performing resort, hotel, holiday park, or tourism operation with accommodation and food and beverage offerings.
  • A strong history of tenure and career progression within the hospitality industry, demonstrating your ability to deliver meaningful results in each role.
  • Exceptional financial acumen and a strong understanding of budgets, P&L management, revenue, and cost control.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, engage, and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to build high-performing and motivated teams.
  • Relevant qualifications in hospitality or business management, including Food Safety and RSA certifications where applicable.
  • A strong understanding of tourism operations and the ability to respond effectively to seasonal demand and changing market conditions.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, guest experience, and the unique tourism opportunities offered by the Adelaide Hills.
Benefits

At our resort, we believe in creating a rewarding and supportive environment for our team. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Live and work in beautiful Hahndorf, with accommodation provided so you can embrace the unique Adelaide Hills lifestyle.
  • Enjoy flexibility and autonomy with a roster that gives you the freedom to manage your time.
  • Make the most of G’Day Group benefits, with exclusive discounts on accommodation, travel, fuel, fitness and more.
  • Grow your career with Australia’s largest park network, with development and progression opportunities across 300+ parks and resorts.
  • Make your mark on the park, with the leadership autonomy to run the operation, lead your team and create memorable guest experiences.
  • Enjoy the Hahndorf lifestyle, right on the doorstep of Adelaide Hills wineries, food, nature and one of South Australia's most iconic towns.
  • Feel supported, with access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Be recognised for your contribution, with service recognition awards celebrating your achievements.
