Job summary

Kempsey Shire Council on the Mid North Coast of NSW is seeking General Labourer/Operators to join the Infrastructure Delivery team. You will work with a crew on road and civil construction, perform labouring tasks, traffic control, and assist in plant operations to support project delivery.

We offer a fortnightly rostered day off, weekly salary ranging from $1,230.13 to $1,384.55 plus super, generous leave, wellbeing programs and ongoing development opportunities in a supportive, collaborative

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction or Plant Operations preferred.
  • Traffic Controller certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Construction Induction Card and valid licence.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team on road/civil construction and maintenance projects.
  • Perform labouring and traffic control duties as required.
  • Operate small plant items when needed.
  • Participate in site inspections and toolbox meetings.
  • Complete timesheets, forms and WHS documentation as required.
  • Meet nominated timeframes for completed works.

Job description

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for multiple General Labourer/Operators to join our multi-award-winning organisation!

Reporting to the allocated Team Leader within the Infrastructure Delivery department, the General Labourer/Operator will work as part of a team involved in road/civil construction and maintenance works, responsible for performing general labouring duties, undertaking traffic control duties, using small items of plant and relieving in plant operations when required.

Key Accountabilities include:
  • Working as part of a team involved in road/civil construction and maintenance works
  • Undertaking labouring and traffic control duties
  • Operating small items of plant as required
  • Actively participating in team site inspection and toolbox meetings
  • Satisfactorily completing works within nominated timeframes
  • Completion of standard forms and reports (electronic and paper based) such as timesheets, leave forms, plant sheet entries and WHS forms

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction or Certificate III in Plant Operations (desirable), or relevant experience in civil construction or plant operations.
  • Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Management Plan certification or be willing to obtain.
  • Current Construction Induction Card.
  • Current Driver License class C, MR will be looked on favorably.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Work Health and Safety in particular the understanding of the role of Safe Work Method Statements and experience in assisting in their preparation.
  • Physical ability to undertake labouring duties.
