Frog Recruitment is partnering with a well-established construction business in New South Wales to recruit an experienced Accountant. This hands-on role covers the full finance function and works closely with senior leadership to support business performance and financial decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience in a general accounting role, preferably in construction, trades, manufacturing, or blue-collar sectors.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid understanding of Australian GST and BAS requirements.
• Experience with MYOB, Xero or similar accounting systems.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, reconciliations and financial record maintenance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports including month-end and year-end processes.
• Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable and ensure supplier payments and customer collections are timely.
• Deliver weekly payroll processing for up to 50 employees via MYOB and maintain employee records.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring and financial analysis.
• Support audits and drive continuous improvement of financial controls.

Reporting directly to the Company Director, your responsibilities will include:

• Manage the general ledger, reconciliations and financial record maintenance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including month-end and year-end processes.
• Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring supplier payments and customer collections are managed effectively.
• Deliver weekly payroll processing for up to 50 employees through MYOB and maintain employee records.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring and financial analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial controls, reporting processes and audit support activities.

To be successful, you will bring previous experience in a general accounting position, ideally within the construction, trades, manufacturing, transport, logistics or broader blue-collar sectors. A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, will be highly regarded. You will also have a sound understanding of Australian GST, BAS and taxation requirements, experience using MYOB, Xero or similar accounting systems, and strong Excel skills.
