The role suits an Accountant, Company Accountant, or Senior Bookkeeper who thrives autonomously and has strong Excel and accounting software skills, with a solid understanding of Australian accounting principles.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a standalone Accountant, Company Accountant, or Senior Bookkeeper role.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently and own the finance function.
• Experience with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end bookkeeping and accounting functions.
• Management of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Payroll processing and compliance requirements.
• Month-end processing, journals, and reconciliations.
• Preparation of management reports and financial information.
• BAS, IAS, and statutory compliance obligations.
• Cash flow monitoring and forecasting.
• Liaising with external accountants, auditors, and advisors.

• Implementing and documenting internal accounting procedures and controls.

About the Role This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Accountant, Company Accountant, or Senior Bookkeeper who enjoys working autonomously and being involved in all aspects of the finance function. Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance obligations are met, and providing valuable financial insights to support business performance and decision-making.

• Experience within construction, design & build, property, development, or project-based environments will be highly regarded
