Job summary

NoosaCare Incorporated on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an experienced and reliable Gardener to join our Gardening and Maintenance Team. This part-time role focuses on maintaining our gardens and grounds across our residential aged care communities in Tewantin and Cooroy, three days per week from 7:30am to 3:30pm.

You will perform general planting, mowing, pruning, irrigation maintenance and assist with landscaping projects while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in garden and grounds maintenance.
• Certificate II or III in Horticulture desirable.
• Ability to operate gardening equipment safely.
• Commitment to a safe and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general garden and grounds maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching and planting.
• Monitor and maintain plant health; manage pests and diseases.
• Safely operate gardening equipment, power tools, irrigation systems.

Part-time Gardener Opportunity at NoosaCare

NoosaCare is a respected not-for-profit aged care organisation located in the heart of the Sunshine Coast. We are seeking an experienced and reliable Gardener to join our Gardening and Maintenance Team, with a primary focus on maintaining our beautiful gardens and grounds across our residential aged care communities in Tewantin and Cooroy.

This permanent part-time position offers three days per week, working 7:30am to 3:30pm, providing an excellent work-life balance while allowing you to make a meaningful contribution to the wellbeing of our residents. While your primary responsibility will be gardening and grounds maintenance, you will also have the flexibility to support the broader Maintenance Team when required, helping to ensure our facilities remain safe, welcoming and well-presented.

About the Role

As part of our amazing Gardening team, you will:

• Perform general garden and grounds maintenance, including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, and planting.
• Monitor and maintain plant health, including identifying and managing pests, diseases, and weeds.
• Safely operate and maintain gardening equipment, power tools, irrigation systems, and garden infrastructure.
• Contribute to a safe, attractive environment by identifying hazards, and assisting with landscaping projects.

About You

• Maintain gardens and grounds to a high standard, including mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, and general landscaping activities.
• Monitor plant health and maintain irrigation systems while safely operating and maintaining gardening equipment and tools.
• Promote a safe and welcoming environment by identifying hazards, completing garden improvement projects, and working respectfully with residents and team members.
• Certificate II or III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, or an equivalent qualification desirable.
