Job summary

Green By Nature is seeking a hands-on Garden Maintenance Team Leader to oversee maintenance, cleaning, repairs and minor construction of park assets. You will lead a team across playgrounds, park furniture and fencing, ensuring safety, functionality and presentation.

This full-time role is based at our depot in Canning Vale with Monday–Friday shifts, early starts and collaborative team culture. Applicants should have a valid driver’s licence and relevant horticulture experience or qualifications.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a team leader or supervisor role.
• Valid Driver's licence (C Class Manual) and current Driver Licence.
• White Card and Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
• Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens is desirable, not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a maintenance team to complete tasks efficiently.
• Follow schedules and prioritise park maintenance activities (planting, hedging, weeding, pruning, fertilising).
• Provide guidance, mentorship and safety training to the team.
• Regularly inspect garden areas and implement improvements.
• Interact with clients to understand preferences and provide updates on maintenance work.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Garden Maintenance Team Leader to assist with the maintenance, cleaning, repairs and minor construction of park assets. This varied outdoor role will see you working across playgrounds, park furniture, fencing and other public assets to ensure they remain safe, functional and well presented.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a team of maintenance staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
• Follow schedules and prioritise tasks to ensure timely completion of garden maintenance activities, including planting, hedging, weeding, pruning and fertilising.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to the team to enhance their horticultural skills and safety practices.
• Regularly inspect garden areas to assess their condition, identify improvements needed, and implement corrective actions.
• Interact with clients to understand their preferences, address concerns, and provide updates on maintenance activities.
