Job summary

ShapeCUT is seeking a Gantry Crane Operator for an immediate start at our Ipswich, QLD site. You will operate gantry cranes, assist with loading/unloading, and ensure quality through careful checks. A valid High Risk Forklift ticket and reliable, team-oriented attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience with gantry cranes or similar equipment.
• Must hold a valid High Risk Forklift ticket.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate gantry crane to load and unload materials safely.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and identify faults or maintenance needs.
• Follow SOPs and QA procedures at all times.
• Assist with scheduling and workload planning with the supervisor.
• Ensure accurate quantities and dimensions are checked before processing.
• Report any issues to the manager and coordinate with workshop staff.

ShapeCUT is Queensland's largest privately owned metal processing firm with over 16 modern machines, the largest stock of steel plates on the market, and a custom-built job processing system all backed by a dedicated and experienced team.

We are currently looking for a Gantry Crane for an immediate start to join our team.

Gantry Crane Positions Available

• In this role you must me reliable, able to work afternoon shifts and weekends when required.
• Adhere to the observation and maintaining Quality Assurance.
• Must be an excellent communicator.
• To be able to comply with Working to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Experience as a Gantry Crane Operator.
• Keep machine clean/operational at all times.
• Assist in unloading and loading of the machine.
• MUST have valid High Risk Ticket for operation of Forklift.
• Keep machine clean/operational at all times.
• Housekeeping by ensuring machine is clean and operational at all times.
• Follow up and ensure all relevant paperwork is addressed
• Be able to accurately check quantities
• Check that dimensions are correct
• Checking quality of cut
• Responsible for reporting to manager to ensure/organise any necessary work/schedules to be addressed either by telephoning/coming into the workplace.
• Liaises any difficulties or workshop requirements to Office/ Person in Charge which would include the following.
  • Chain and dog repairs
  • Forklift Repairs / break down
• Identifying and address WH&S issues and compliance with WH&S procedures and policies.
• Display courtesy, manners and respect to customers and fellow colleagues.
• Be available for day shift / afternoon shift and possible weekend work.
• Any other duties deemed necessary.
