Job summary

Anton Murray Consulting partners with a global financial institution to appoint a Financial Reporting Manager for its Sydney office on a permanent basis. You will lead the monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reporting, along with regulatory and tax reporting for a diverse client base including investment managers and superannuation funds.

The role requires strong client service skills, and a proven ability to manage a team while delivering high-quality financial information.

Qualifications

• Leadership and organizational skills to manage and motivate team members.
• In-depth functional/industry knowledge.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Extensive experience in Custodian, Superannuation fund, or Investment Manager accounting/tax teams.
• Understanding of MIS unit pricing and unit registry concepts.
• Accounting/Commerce/Finance degree with CA or CPA qualification.
• Client service and relationship management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage Financial Reporting for the Client Accounting groups.
• Conduct performance management and career development processes, staffing and disciplinary actions.
• Acts as a subject area expert and directs activities of staff.
• Provide advice to internal clients on business trends, issues, and regulatory changes.
• Interacts with various business areas to determine automation needs and provide ongoing systems support.
• Develops periodic goals, organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, and ensures timely completion of the work.
• Maintains risk management and compliance programs for the group.
• As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to the team and partners.
• Role balances high-level operational execution with strategic direction of the function.
