Job summary

Whitehorse City Council is seeking a Team Leader Functions to manage The Round venue in Nunawading (Melbourne’s East). The role focuses on growing function bookings, delivering end-to-end catering and hospitality services, and driving excellent customer experiences for diverse clients.

You will lead a team, coordinate menus with the Head Chef, manage budgets, and implement campaigns to secure repeat visitation while maintaining high service standards in a high-volume venue setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience developing and implementing business growth strategies that increase function bookings, revenue, customer retention and satisfaction
• Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end delivery of functions, events, marketing catering and hospitality services in a high-volume venue environment
• Proven ability to manage a team, build a positive workplace culture and deliver consistently high standards of customer service
• Demonstrated financial management capability, including budget preparation and monitoring, revenue and expenditure management, cost-of-goods analysis, forecasting and performance reporting
• Strong operational planning, problem-solving and resource management skills, with the ability to coordinate staff, contractors, suppliers

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high performing functions business at The Round, including growth plans to secure new business and repeat visitation
• Adjust menus and packages in collaboration with Head Chef to suit a range of client budgets
• Establish effective procedures and ensure a safe, positive end-to-end client and guest experience
• Drive the team to maintain exceptional customer service and operational standards
