Job summary

The Notting Hill Hotel is seeking a hands-on Functions & Events Assistant to run events from start to finish, ensure rooms are ready, and keep the team organized for smooth service. You’ll liaise with clients, brief the crew, and coordinate the kitchen and bar to deliver memorable events.

Ideal candidates have solid events experience in pubs, restaurants, hotels or venues, excellent customer service, and the ability to lead a small team during peak times while maintaining high standards.

Qualifications

• Strong food and beverage service skills.

Responsibilities

• Running functions and events from bump-in through to pack-down
• Welcoming clients and guests and being their point of contact during the event
• Briefing and directing the event team before and during service
• Making sure food and beverage service runs smoothly
• Running canapés, sit-down dinners, cocktail parties and larger functions
• Working closely with the kitchen and bar teams throughout service
• Working as part of the wider Nott team during busy service

FUNCTIONS & EVENTS ASSISTANT - THE NOTT

'The Nott' is all about great food, cold drinks, live music, good times and throwing a great party.

With 3 kitchens, multiple function spaces, live music and events of all shapes and sizes, we're looking for an experienced Functions & Events Assistant to join our team.

The Notting Hill Hotel is well known as the "Best pub in the South East" - maybe it's time you joined our Nott Family.

The Role

This is a hands-on, on-the-floor events role. You'll be responsible for helping run functions from start to finish - making sure the room is ready, the team is organised, food and drinks are flowing and, most importantly, the guests are having a good time.

You'll be:

Running functions and events from bump-in through to pack-down

Welcoming clients and guests and being their point of contact during the event

Briefing and directing the event team before and during service

Making sure food and beverage service runs smoothly

Running canapés, sit-down dinners, cocktail parties and larger functions

Working closely with the kitchen and bar teams throughout service

Working as part of the wider Nott team during busy service

The Successful Candidate

We're looking for someone who already knows how to run functions. You will have:

Solid functions/events experience

Experience running functions in a pub, restaurant, hotel or events venue
