Job summary

Nixil in Canberra is seeking an experienced Functional Automation Tester to ensure quality of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions, including Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse.

You will design and execute manual and automated tests, translate requirements into robust test cases, and integrate tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. Strong UI/API testing skills and Agile collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions.
• Strong UI, functional, integration and end-to-end testing across Dynamics/Power Platform.
• Automated UI regression testing using Playwright, Selenium or EasyRepro; API testing with Postman or REST Assured.
• Ability to integrate tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines; proficiency with VS Code and source control.
• ISTQB or comparable certification is desirable.

We are seeking an experienced Functional Automation Tester with strong manual and automated testing capabilities across Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions. You will work within an established testing practice, supporting multiple projects and testing applications built with Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse.

This role is ideal for someone who can quickly understand new systems and business processes, work independently with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute manual and automated testing activities across multiple digital projects.
• Test Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform applications, including Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse solutions.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios, test cases and test data.
• Perform UI, functional, integration, system, regression and user acceptance testing.
• Validate end-to-end business processes across web-based and enterprise applications.
• Design, develop, execute and maintain automated UI regression test suites.
• Automate API and integration testing across backend services, authentication flows and system integrations.
• Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines so they execute as part of build and release processes.
• Identify, document, manage and retest defects through to resolution.
• Produce clear test results, progress updates and quality reports.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product teams and other project stakeholders.
• Move effectively between different projects, technologies, testing phases and business domains as priorities change.
• Contribute to testing standards, reusable automation assets and continuous improvement across the testing practice.

Essential Skills and Experience

Security clearance: Must be an Australian Citizen & Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance.

• Demonstrated experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Power Platform applications, including Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse.
• Strong understanding of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform business processes and end-to-end solution testing.
• Experience analysing requirements, designing test scenarios, executing tests, managing defects and supporting business process validation.
• Strong experience across UI, functional, integration, system, regression and user acceptance testing.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining automated UI regression test suites using tools such as:
• Playwright
• Selenium
• EasyRepro
• Comparable automation frameworks
• Strong API and integration testing experience, including automated validation of:
• Backend services and APIs
• API Management-fronted services
• Dataverse plugins and custom APIs
• Authentication and integration flows
• Experience using API testing tools or frameworks such as Postman/Newman, REST Assured or Playwright API testing.
• Demonstrated experience integrating automated test suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, enabling tests to run automatically during build and release activities.
• Proficiency with Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps and source control.
• Experience with test management, defect management and test reporting practices.
• Sound understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and modern testing methodologies.
• Experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Ability to learn new applications, technologies and business processes quickly.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently, become productive quickly and deliver with minimal supervision.

Desirable Experience

• ISTQB Test Automation certification or a comparable industry qualification.
• In-depth experience testing or supporting Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Platform and Power BI solutions.
• Experience testing server-side or plugin logic.
• Knowledge of environment variables, secrets and application configuration.
• Experience validating API Management policies.
• Experience using Jira or similar platforms for test and defect management alongside Azure DevOps.
