Job summary

Saltus Group seeks an experienced Functional Automation Tester to support a major digital transformation delivering Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions in Canberra. The role blends hands-on manual testing with designing and maintaining automated regression tests across UI and API layers.

You will contribute to testing Dynamics 365, Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse-based applications, and integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps pipelines to run with builds and releases.

Qualifications

Functional Automation Tester - Dynamics 365 / Power Platform

Engagement: 12-month contract

Security Clearance: Baseline security clearance

We are seeking an experienced Functional Automation Tester to support a major digital transformation program delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions.

This role combines hands-on manual testing with the design, development and maintenance of automated regression testing across both UI and API/integration layers. You will work within an established testing practice, supporting multiple concurrent projects and helping ensure reliable, usable and high-quality digital business solutions.

The successful candidate will have strong experience testing Dynamics 365, Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse-based applications, together with practical experience integrating automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning, designing and executing functional and automated testing across enterprise applications and digital services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform functional, system, integration, regression and user acceptance testing.
• Test Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions including Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse.
• Design, develop, execute and maintain automated UI regression test suites.
• Develop automated API and integration tests covering backend services, authentication flows and system integrations.
• Integrate automated test suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines so testing executes automatically through build and release processes.
• Identify, document, manage and retest defects through to resolution.
• Perform end-to-end validation of business processes across interconnected applications and services.
• Maintain test documentation, reporting, traceability and test evidence.
• Work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, product owners and other delivery specialists.
• Manage testing activities across multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Quickly develop an understanding of unfamiliar business processes, technologies and applications.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

• Strong experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Power Platform applications, including Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse.
• Experience analysing requirements, designing test scenarios, executing tests, managing defects and validating end-to-end business processes.
• Strong experience across UI, functional, integration, system, regression and UAT testing within enterprise or web-based environments.
• Significant experience designing and maintaining automated UI testing using tools such as:
• Playwright
• Selenium
• EasyRepro
• Strong API and integration testing experience using tools such as:
• Postman / Newman
• REST Assured
• Playwright API testing
• Experience validating APIs, authentication processes, Dataverse integrations, plugins, custom APIs and other backend services.
• Demonstrated experience integrating automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps, source control, test management and defect management tools.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary Agile delivery teams.
• Ability to work independently, become productive quickly and operate with minimal supervision.
• Strong adaptability and the ability to move between projects, technologies, testing phases and business domains.

Highly regarded experience includes:

• ISTQB Automation Certification or equivalent.
• Advanced experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Platform and Power BI solutions.
• Testing server-side or plugin logic within Dynamics 365 / Dataverse environments.
• Experience validating environment variables, secrets and application configuration.
• API Management policy and integration testing experience.

• Experience using Jira or similar test and defect management tools alongside Azure DevOps.
