Job summary

Respect Aged Care is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Services Assistant for Chaffey House, Merbein. This full‑time role focuses on gardening, general handyman work, and preventative maintenance to keep residents' environments safe and welcoming.

You’ll manage gardens, grounds, buildings and equipment, report issues promptly and coordinate with contractors. A valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain a Police Certificate are required. Not-for-profit benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance and general upkeep experience.
• Ability to plan and prioritise maintenance tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain Police Certificate.
• Experience in facilities maintenance or groundskeeping is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens and outdoor spaces to be neat and welcoming.
• Perform general handyman tasks and routine facility maintenance.
• Keep buildings, fixtures and communal areas in good working order.
• Identify issues early and report or address them promptly.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules and records.
• Manage maintenance and gardening supplies and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and schedules for maintenance work.
• Support health and safety and regulatory requirements.
