Sri Arka Devi Pty Ltd T/A Casu Jacks in Mackay Harbour, QLD, is seeking a full-time Cook to join the kitchen team. The role covers day-to-day food preparation, cooking to the menu, and ensuring dietary needs are met, with emphasis on hygiene and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and at least one year of relevant experience, with the ability to work independently and in a team. Salary ranges from AUD 75,000 to 85,000 plus superannuation.

Formación

• Certificate III Commercial Cookery.
• At least one year of experience in a similar role is required.
• Adherence to OH&S and Food Safety regulations.

Responsabilidades

• To cook dishes as per the menu and ensure special dietary requirements are met if any.
• To follow correct portion sizes and seasoning while setting food on plates to maintain consistency as per restaurant standards.
• To maintain high personal hygiene and food safety standards.
• To maintain a productive workflow and ensure that duties are undertaken in a hygienic, methodical, and satisfactory manner.
• Safely use knives and maintain their quality by regular honing and sharpening.
• Examining the quality of raw food items used to ensure consistency is maintained for the cooked food.
• Regulating temperatures of stoves and ovens and other equipment used in the kitchen.
• To follow HACCP principles such as maintaining cooking and cooling records, defrosting records, and food storage records
• To avoid cross-contamination, store and monitor raw food and cooked food separately as per the recommended temperature.
• To store fresh food supplies in refrigerators or freezers at the temperature recommended by food industry standards.
• Training the junior and newly hired staff as per the cooking procedures used in the restaurant to maintain consistency.
• To clean the worktable and equipment after completing any preparation and making it ready for the next preparation.
