Job summary

Maithil Rasoi is seeking a Full-Time Chef (Indian) in Orange, NSW 2800 to prepare, cook and portion authentic Indian dishes. You will manage food quality, portion control and plating while maintaining high hygiene standards.

Experience in Indian cuisines and a professional, fast-paced environment mindset are essential. Training of staff and adherence to safety protocols are expected in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate in Professional Cookery.
• 1-2 years’ experience as a Chef in a full-service restaurant.
• Experience in Indian cuisines.

• Willingness to learn and train others.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking, seasoning & portioning Indian dishes as required by the restaurant.
• Carving and trimming foods to ready them for different dishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and high standards of hygiene at all times.
• Regulate temperatures of Tandoor oven and gas burner.
• Seasoning, garnishing and cooking per standard recipes.
• Portioning food according to orders and menus.
• Supervise kitchen staff and training where needed.
• Ensure the workplace meets safety and quality standards.
