Drakes Supermarkets is hiring for a Fruit & Veg Assistant in Queensland, Australia. The role will oversee the Fruit & Veg department, supporting day-to-day operations and leading the team with a hands-on approach to ensure an outstanding shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day running of the Fruit & Veg department and team.
• Assist with managing and coaching the team, completing production, actioning orders and rosters.
• Ensure smooth operation of department and high standards of service.
• Support stock handling, display, and merchandising to create an appealing setup.
• Collaborate with store management to meet targets and maintain WHS compliance.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Fruit & Veg Manager, this successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the stores Fruit & Veg department, to ensure the smooth operation of the department and it's team.

If successful, you will be required to assist with managing and coaching the team, completing production, actioning orders, generating rosters + much more!

Working as a part of an enthusiastic team, in a highly competitive supermarket environment, applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

Fresh food retail knowledge is preferred, but not essential

Ability to supervise a team
