Job summary

Healius Limited is seeking a Pathology Collector for a permanent part-time role in Queensland. You will directly interact with patients to collect blood samples and other specimens, ensuring accurate handling and documentation in line with procedures.

The role involves venepuncture, basic diagnostic checks, and maintaining a high standard of patient experience. Training is provided, with a 6-week program and progressive hours during onboarding.

Qualifications

• Pathology collection experience is highly regarded.
• Certificate III in Pathology Collection preferred.
• Strong communication and rapport-building with patients.
• Ability to follow procedures and manage priorities.
• Willing to obtain WWCC and provide immunisation evidence.
• Live within the specified radius of the collection centre.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, manage waiting areas and explain collection procedures.
• Perform venepuncture and collect pathology specimens.
• Conduct diagnostic tests such as ECGs, blood pressure, Holter as required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and specimen registers.
• Prepare, pre-sort and package specimens for transport to labs.
• Manage patient communications and take payments when required.
• Maintain a safe, clean and professional collection environment.
