Job summary

Department of Government Services (DGS) is seeking an Inspector for Consumer Affairs Victoria in Melbourne. The role involves conducting compliance monitoring and inspections under Australian Consumer Law and related Acts, and performing tenancy investigations with outreach to regional Victoria.

You will deliver front-line dispute resolution, provide business and community education, and build productive relationships with community agencies and local councils.

Qualifications

• Experience in inspection operations including planning and delivery of outreach activities.
• Ability to apply CAV legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures in compliance/enforcement.
• Experience drafting reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compliance monitoring activities and inspections under Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act.
• Carry out tenancy investigations including rental assessments and repairs as delegated.
• Deliver front line dispute resolution and community education aligned with program priorities.
• Engage with area stakeholders including councils, businesses and community groups.
• Be prepared to be appointed as an Inspector under relevant Acts and perform duties across Victoria.
