Job summary

Qantas is seeking a mid-level Front-End Developer to join the new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide. You will build high-traffic customer-facing web applications using modern frontend stacks and cloud services, while focusing on UX, performance and accessibility.

You will work hands-on, delivering robust software, shaping architecture and collaborating across teams to meet business outcomes and security standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a hands-on Software Engineering role.
• Experience building high-traffic customer-facing web applications.
• Frontend stack: JavaScript, React, SSR, HTML, CSS, CSS Modules.
• Experience with design systems and reusable components across repos.
• Cloud platforms (AWS) and familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and Git.
• Observability with Splunk/Datadog or similar.
• Commitment to code quality, security and performance.
• Experience with GraphQL desirable
• Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Edge Delivery Services desirable

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver robust, scalable frontend systems powering digital experiences.
• Be hands-on and contribute high-quality, well-designed code.
• Ensure reliability, performance and data privacy compliance.
• Collaborate with design systems and share reusable components across repos.
• Monitor production systems and contribute to continuous improvement.
