Brisbane City Periodontics & Implants in Brisbane CBD/Upper Mount Gravatt is seeking a Dental Receptionist. This full-time role offers a nine-day fortnight with no weekend shifts and involves learning the practice systems, patient processes and specialist workflow.

You will manage patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, calls, recalls and health fund processing while receiving training on Ultimo Dental software.

Qualifications

• 12 months of customer service experience preferred.
• Dental experience is not essential.
• Initial training in Ultimo Dental software will be provided.

Responsibilities

Dental Receptionist - More Than Answering Phones

Brisbane CBD and Upper Mount Gravatt| Nine-day fortnight | No weekends

If you are already working in reception or customer service, you may be wondering what would make another reception role worth considering.

This opportunity offers something many reception positions do not: a genuine pathway from front-desk support into practitioner coordination, treatment planning and ownership of the patient journey—all within a specialist practice known for retaining its people.

Seven employees have been with this practice for between 10 and 18 years. That does not happen by accident.

Initially, you will learn the practice systems, patient processes and specialist workflow. You will be supported to become confident with:

• Patient check-in and check-out
• Appointment scheduling and diary management
• Incoming calls and patient enquiries
• Recall and hygiene appointment coordination
• Health fund claims and payment processing
• Patient records, correspondence and diagnostic images
• End-of-day banking and reconciliation

As your confidence develops, the role can progress into coordinating the reception and administrative needs of a specific practitioner. This may include managing new patient bookings, discussing treatment plans, coordinating external appointments and organising multiple treatment visits.

You will not be expected to know everything on your first day. The practice adapts its training to suit different learning styles, whether you learn best through explanation, demonstration or hands-on guidance.

Who this opportunity may suit

You may already be working in dental reception and feel ready for greater responsibility, better support or a more professional team environment.

Alternatively, you may come from medical reception, allied health, hospitality, administration or another customer-focused industry and want to build a long-term career in specialist dentistry.

Dental experience is not essential. At least 12 months of customer service experience is preferred, and full training in the practice's Ultimo Dental software will be provided.

Working arrangements

This is a full-time position working:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
• Alternate Thursdays
• Approximately 7:45-8:15 am to 4:45-5:15 pm

Some flexibility is required around start and finish times depending on the practitioner's schedule. You will also work across the Brisbane CBD and Upper Mount Gravatt clinics.

The vacancy has arisen because a valued team member is relocating interstate to support an unwell parent—not because the practice cannot retain its staff.

Brisbane City Periodontics & Implants has operated since 2006 and includes:

• Five surgeries in Brisbane CBD
• Four surgeries in Upper Mount Gravatt
• Three Oral Health Therapists and Hygienists
• Nine reception team members
