Job summary

Canberra Consulting is seeking an experienced React/TypeScript Developer to join a high-performing Agile delivery team supporting a significant public-facing cyber capability within the Australian Government.

This hands-on role requires strong experience across React, TypeScript, JavaScript, SPA architecture and Node.js-based APIs, and is onsite in Canberra with an NV1 security clearance. You will design, develop, integrate and support modern web applications and APIs.

Qualifications

• Solid commercial experience building React/TypeScript web apps.
• Experience with SPA architecture and state management libraries.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and Node.js/Express.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and testing

Front-End Developer – React & TypeScript

Front-End Developer – React & TypeScript (Web Developer) Location: Canberra ACT - Onsite Rate: $90–$110 per hour incl. super Clearance: NV1 minimum

Canberra Consulting is seeking an experienced React / TypeScript Developer to join a high-performing Agile delivery team supporting the development and enhancement of a significant public-facing cyber capability within the Australian Government.

This is a hands-on development role requiring strong experience across React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Single-Page Applications and Node.js-based APIs.

Mandatory requirements

Applicants must:

• Be an Australian Citizen
• Hold a current AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance or higher
• Be Canberra-based or able to work onsite in the ACT
• Have demonstrated commercial experience developing modern React / TypeScript applications

The role

Working within an Agile multi-disciplinary team of developers, business analysts and testers, you will design, develop, integrate and support modern web applications, components and APIs.

You will contribute to the ongoing development of a public-facing cyber reporting capability and work closely with business and product stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, reliable and maintainable software.

Responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript and ES6
• Building and maintaining modern Single-Page Applications
• Implementing state management solutions such as Redux or MobX
• Developing responsive user interfaces from UX and design specifications
• Designing and integrating RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express
• Implementing secure authentication workflows and appropriate data-handling practices
• Developing and maintaining automated unit testing using frameworks such as Jest
• Working with modern build tools and bundlers including Webpack
• Participating in Agile, Scrum and Kanban delivery environments
• Troubleshooting application, system and integration issues
• Producing detailed technical and solution design documentation
• Supporting continuous improvement of development practices, automation and delivery processes

Skills and experience

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong demonstrated experience across:

• React
• TypeScript
• JavaScript / ES6
• Node.js and Express
• RESTful APIs
• SPA architecture
• Redux, MobX or similar state-management frameworks
• Responsive web design
• Webpack or comparable build tooling
• Jest or similar automated testing frameworks
• Agile software development environments

Experience delivering secure or public-facing applications within Defence, ASD, national security or broader Federal Government environments will be highly regarded.
