Job summary

Ignite is seeking a Web Developer to work on a Federal Government agency’s public-facing applications in Canberra. The role is an initial 12-month contract with options for two 12-month extensions, based in Canberra.

The candidate will implement UX specs, build RESTful APIs with Node.js/Express, and develop a SPA using React/TypeScript, with modern tooling and unit testing. Australian citizenship and NV1 clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering public-facing apps in Agile environments.
• Strong experience with React, TypeScript and modern JS tooling.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs using Node.js/Express.
• SPA experience with state management and responsive design.
• Ability to track and push tasks to completion within Agile frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Track and progress tasks to completion within Agile, Kanban and Scrum.
• Implement UX specs for public-facing applications and produce design documentation.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express with secure authentication.
• Develop SPA with React/TypeScript and modern build tools; include unit tests with Jest.
• Ensure SPA includes state management (Redux/MobX), routing and responsive design.

I'm working with a large Federal Governmentagency to find a Web Developer.

This is an initial 12 month contract with 2 x 12 month extension options and is based in Canberra.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Experience in tracking and progressing tasks to completion within an Agile, Kanban and Scrum framework.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing UX specs to public facing application and producing detailed design documentation.
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express, including secure authentication workflows and data handling.
• Demonstrated experience and strong proficiency in REACT/TypeScript/Javascript/ES6, including the use of modern build tools and bundlers (eg. Webpack) and unit testing frameworks (eg. Jest).
• Demonstrated Single-Page Application (SPA) experience including state-management (e.g. Redux, MobX), routing, responsive design etc.
