Job summary

Doctors and Co in Salamander Bay is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to join our clinic team. You will manage front-desk duties, greet patients, process payments, schedule appointments, and help keep records and the reception area organized.

Selected candidate will support daily operations with a focus on confidentiality and exceptional customer service. Experience with medical software such as BEST PRACTICE or Medical Director is preferred. Casual/full-time roles available.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team.

• Commitment to quality patient service.
• At least 1 year experience as a Medical Receptionist in a medical practice.

Responsibilities

• Open and Close clinic as per set procedure.
• Greet patients and other callers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Make appointments for patients.
• Ensure medical records are managed confidentially and efficiently.
• Process patient payments via cash, EFTPOS, and direct bill transactions.
• Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, TAC, Workcover.
• Knowledge of the MBS schedule and correct billing procedures.
• Deal with referring doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists etc courteously and helpfully.
• Attend to patient enquiries.
• Check and handle internal emails.
• Fill in the roster when staff is away, on holidays and sick leave.
• Maintain the reception waiting area and consulting rooms tidy including the clean up of spills if necessary.
• Ensure storage and retrieval of patient and practice records with scanning, faxing and filing.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information.
• Complete recalls.
• Support day-to-day operations of the medical centre.
• Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills.
