Job summary

UGL Group is seeking a Core Integration Engineer to design, integrate and validate a world-first FRMCS network for rail operations. You will work on a 5G-based core with mission critical apps, cybersecurity, and data platforms, delivering end-to-end system integration in a complex environment.

You will collaborate across operations, signalling, rolling stock and telecommunications teams, while engaging vendors and integrators to ensure a successful deployment and readiness for field trials.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
• Relevant industry certifications desirable: LTE/5G, Cybersecurity, ITIL Foundation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement FRMCS core for rail operations.
• Develop system architecture for FRMCS.
• Produce high and low-level design documentation.
• Develop interface specifications and integration designs including: Telco hybrid 5G core, Mission Critical data platform, Cybersecurity platform, Network monitoring, Archiving.
• Configure and integrate mission critical applications and core network components.
• Develop test plans, SIT, SAT, integration and commissioning test procedures.
• Perform system validation and acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with operations, signalling, rolling stock and telecommunications teams.
• Engage with technology vendors, system integrators and maintenance partners.
