Job summary

Metcash is seeking a Primary Freight Coordinator to join our national freight network in Australia. You will coordinate end-to-end freight operations, work with suppliers, transport partners and internal teams, and drive service excellence across the network to support commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight, logistics or supply chain operations, ideally within FMCG, retail or transport environments.
• Strong knowledge of the Australian transport and supply chain industry.
• Experience coordinating freight movements and working with transport providers and suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships.
• Proficiency using Transport Management Systems (TMS), Microsoft Office and related systems.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, problem-solving and delivering great service outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end primary freight operations, including supplier alignment, carrier management and freight execution
• Partner with suppliers, transport providers and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient freight movement and service delivery
• Drive service excellence across the primary freight network while supporting commercial outcomes
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across a diverse network of internal and external partners
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and performance
• Collaborate across the broader supply chain team to support strategic initiatives and future growth
