Job summary

Metcash is hiring a Primary Freight Coordinator to coordinate end-to-end freight operations across our national network. You will work with suppliers, transport partners, and internal teams to deliver exceptional service and drive improvements in the primary freight function.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight, logistics or supply chain operations.
• Strong knowledge of the Australian transport and supply chain industry.
• Experience coordinating freight movements with transport providers and suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proficiency using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end primary freight operations, including supplier alignment, carrier management, and freight execution.
• Partner with suppliers, transport providers and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient freight movement and service delivery.
• Drive service excellence across the primary freight network while supporting commercial outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across a diverse network of internal and external partners.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
• Collaborate across the broader supply chain team to support strategic initiatives and future growth.

In this Role

• Coordinate end-to-end primary freight operations, including supplier alignment, carrier management and freight execution

You’re Likely a Match If

• Experience in freight, logistics or supply chain operations, ideally within FMCG, retail or transport environments
• Strong knowledge of the Australian transport and supply chain industry
• Experience coordinating freight movements and working with transport providers and suppliers
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Proficiency using Transport Management Systems (TMS), Microsoft Office and related systems
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, problem-solving and delivering great service outcomes
