Job summary

Fintech Resources is seeking an FP&A Analyst to join our global infrastructure team in Sydney. You will manage project budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis and financial modelling across a significant pipeline of capital projects.

Collaborating with Project Management and Capital Markets, you will ensure budgets and funding requests are accurate, supported by robust analysis and governance, in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in FP&A, commercial finance, project finance or related analytical role.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis experience.
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability.
• Exposure to capital-intensive environments (infrastructure, construction, energy) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own project budget tracking with actuals, forecasts and funding Capture.
• Partner with Project Management to validate cash flows, forecasts, and funding requests.
• Lead actual vs. forecast variance analysis and resolve issues at source.
• Build and maintain financial models to support planning and capital allocation.
• Collaborate with Capital Markets on financing assumptions for projects.
• Maintain governance and audit trails across budgets and cash flow information.

FP&A Analyst – Capital Projects & Infrastructure

An exciting opportunity for an FP&A Analyst to join a rapidly growing global infrastructure business.

Based in Sydney, this role will sit within a high-performing finance team and play a key role across project budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis and financial modelling for a significant pipeline of capital projects.

Working closely with Project Management, Project Controls and Capital Markets, you will provide financial oversight across major projects, ensuring budgets, forecasts and actuals are accurately maintained while delivering analysis to support capital allocation, funding and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Own project budget tracking, ensuring actuals, forecasts and funding requirements are accurately captured, reconciled and maintained.

Partner with Project Management and Project Controls teams to validate project cash flows, forecasts and funding requests against approved budgets.

Lead actual versus forecast variance analysis across projects, investigating discrepancies and ensuring issues are resolved at source.

Build and maintain financial and scenario models to support project planning, expansion initiatives and capital allocation decisions.

Partner with Capital Markets on project-level financial modelling to support financing activities, lender requirements and funding requests.

Maintain strong governance, controls and audit trails across project budget and cash flow information.

Provide financial analysis and insights to support management and broader business decision-making.

Work across multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

About You

Experience across FP&A, commercial finance, project finance, project accounting or a related analytical finance role.

Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis experience.

Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability.

Exposure to project-based, infrastructure, energy, utilities, construction or other capital-intensive environments would be highly regarded.

Strong understanding of cash flow, project budgets and financial controls.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
