Job summary

Nuage Technology Group is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Sydney team in a hybrid role. You will work directly with clients to scope problems, design integrations and lead end-to-end implementation, delivering rapid, real-world solutions.

You will bring strong software engineering and ML/AI product experience, excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders, and willingness to travel for client engagements across Sydney and beyond.

Foward Deployed Engineer - Sydney (Hybrid) - Circa $220k + Package

Nuage are representing a brand new client of ours to help find (initially one) FDE to join their team. They are a reputable business building out their Sydney presence as they help their enterprise clients automate complex workflows. They work with some of Australia’s largest organisations across multiple industries and plan on growing heavily in this space.

I'm looking for engineers that're comfortable sitting at the intersection of engineering, product and the customer. You’ll embed with clients and their teams, understand their messy real world problems, and ship working solutions in days/weeks. You’ll also be responsible for feeding back to the Product teams to ensure that every production makes the platform better.

What you’ll do:

• Work directly with customers to scope problems, define success and turn ambiguous requirements into working software
• Design, build and deploy integrations, data pipelines and custom solutions on top of our platform
• Lead technical onboarding and implementation E2E
• Troubleshoot complex issues in live customer environments
• Present technical solutions and trade-offs to both engineers and senior business stakeholders
• Partner with Product and Engineering to turn field insights into roadmap priorities
• Build reusable tooling and patterns so the next deployment is faster than the last

What I'm looking for:

• Strong experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, Product Engineering or in a similar customer-facing, highly technical role
• Experience with LLMs, AI agents or ML-based products
• Strong programming skills in in Python (And ideally JS)
• Experience with APIs, SQL, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and modern data tooling
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working with non-technical stakeholders
• A bias for action, strong ownership and the ability to work independently in ambiguous situations
• Willingness to travel to client sites across Sydney and occasionally interstate

Nice to have:

• Background in consulting, startups or professional services
• Experience in regulated industries (financial services, government, health)
