Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a dedicated Placement Worker to support Foster and Kinship carers and children in care in Cairns with outreach to surrounding areas. The role offers permanent full-time terms with flexible work options and a remuneration of $53.43 p/hr plus Super and NFP salary packaging.

You will provide intake/referrals, contribute to quality carer training, and assist with matching children to carers while maintaining licensing documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in Child Protection and delivering Foster and Kinship Care services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Social Science desirable.
• Cert IV in Training and Assessor desirable.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Blue Card or willingness to apply.
• Willing to undergo a personal history check under the Child Protection Act 1999 for Licensing of Care Services

Responsibilities

• Assist with intake/referrals and matching of children to care placements.
• Deliver quality care training for carer applicants.
• Conduct foster care applicant interviews and initial assessments.
• Supervise support and professional development for carers.
• Admin tasks for accurate data reporting and record keeping for licensing
