Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland’s FaDS team is seeking a Placement Worker based in Cairns, with outreach to Mossman and Innisfail. You will provide support and case management to foster and kinship carers and the children in their care, including intake, referrals, and matching to placements.

The role emphasises collaboration with carers and stakeholders, preparing assessments, and supporting carers through licensing processes. A rewarding, permanent full-time position with flexible work options.

Qualifications

• Experience in child protection and delivering foster and kinship care services to children and families.
• Demonstrated ability to support carers and provide professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake/referrals support and matching of children to carer households.
• Assist with delivery of quality care training for carer applicants.
• Conduct foster care applicant interviews and initial assessments.
• Admin tasks for data reporting and licensing records.
