Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland seeks a Placement Worker to support Foster and Kinship Carers and the children in their care. You will assist intake/referrals, match children to carers and contribute to training programs for carers in a community-focused role based in Cairns.

Qualifications

• Experience in Child Protection and delivering Foster and Kinship Care services to children and families.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Social Work, Psychology or Social Science) preferred.
• Cert IV in Training and Assessor desirable; Blue Card or willingness to obtain.
• Willingness to undergo a personal history check under Child Protection Act 1999.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and case management to Foster and Kinship Carers and the children and young people in their care.
• Assist with intake/referrals and matching of children to care placements.
• Assist with delivery of quality care training for carer applicants.
• Admin tasks for accurate data reporting and licensing.
