Job summary

Form 2 Form Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated full-time Carpenter with a strong background in formwork and structural frameworks. The successful candidate will read and interpret drawings, lay out formwork, and manage materials for each stage of works on site in Australia.

The role requires AQF Certificate III in Carpentry or Formwork, at least 2 years of relevant experience, and the ability to work outdoors, at heights, and under pressure while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Holds AQF Certificate III in Carpentry, Formwork or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in measurement.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors and at heights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings, engineering plans and specifications to determine formwork layouts, dimensions, materials and installation methods.
• Estimate and order timber, plywood, steel and proprietary formwork systems and materials required for each stage of works.
• Set out and mark formwork positions using levels, string lines and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy against plans.
• Measure, cut, shape and assemble timber, plywood and other materials to build formwork panels, boxing and moulds.
• Erect, brace and secure formwork for concrete footings, slabs, columns, walls, beams and stairs.
• Install props, shoring and falsework to support formwork and maintain structural stability during concrete placement.
• Check formwork for alignment, level, plumb and dimensional accuracy before and during concrete pours, making adjustments as required.
• Coordinate with steel fixers, concreters and site supervisors to schedule pours and ensure works progress in line with the project program.
• Strip, clean, repair and store formwork components after concrete has cured so they can be reused on subsequent works.
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, site procedures, building codes and relevant Australian Standards.
• Assist in training and supervising apprentices and less experienced workers.

Education
