Job summary

Workfast is seeking experienced Carpenters to join a major transport infrastructure project based at Waratah NSW. The role involves bridge construction and maintenance work within a structured four-day roster and 9.5-hour days, with Fridays off.

You will carry out carpentry tasks, formwork, falsework, concreting, and steel tying, ensuring safety and quality on site. Candidates should have Certificate III in Carpentry and a Working at Heights ticket, with a willingness to travel for the six-month

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry is required.
• Working at Heights ticket is required.
• Experience in bridge construction or maintenance.
• Experience with formwork, falsework, concreting and steel tying.
• Commitment to health and safety on site.
• Ability to work in demanding site conditions and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel/stay away from home for project duration.

Responsibilities

Workfast is seeking experienced Carpenters to join a major transport infrastructure project based at Waratah NSW. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled tradespeople with experience in bridge construction or maintenance who are looking for a consistent project and a structured work schedule.

The positions are available ASAP, with an initial duration of six months and the possibility of extension.

• Pay rate: $49.35 per hour + super

About the Role

Working as part of a construction and maintenance team, you will assist with bridge construction and maintenance activities while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out carpentry work associated with bridge construction and maintenance
• Installing and working with formwork and falsework
• Assisting with concreting activities and concrete finishing
• Completing steel tying and reinforcement work
• Supporting general construction and maintenance activities as required
• Following site drawings, specifications and instructions
• Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
• Complying with all site safety procedures and requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Certificate III in Carpentry
• Working at Heights ticket
• Previous experience in bridge construction or maintenance
• Practical experience with formwork, falsework, concreting and steel tying
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and in demanding site conditions
• Flexibility to work away from home for the required project duration
