Job summary

Team Global Express in Townsville seeks a hands-on Forklift Operator to ensure safe and efficient freight movement within the depot. You will load and unload, sort and scan freight, and assist with general duties in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a current LF Forklift Licence and prior forklift experience in logistics, with a preference for HC/MC licences. This is a Monday–Friday role starting at 6:30am, offering a stable full-time position and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks and trailers.
• Move, stage and organise freight within the depot and yard.

• Assist with general freight-handling and depot duties as required.
• Work closely with drivers and the Operations team to support efficient freight movements.

Team Global Express is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our Townsville team.

This is a hands-on role within a busy freight environment, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of freight across the depot. If you have strong forklift experience, understand the importance of safety and enjoy working as part of an operational team, we'd like to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Forklift Operator, you will play an important role in ensuring freight is loaded, unloaded, sorted and moved safely and efficiently through our Townsville depot.

The position is Monday to Friday with a 6:30am start.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks and trailers.
• Move, stage and organise freight within the depot and yard.
• Sort and scan freight accurately for dispatch.
• Check freight and report any damage or discrepancies.
• Assist with general freight-handling and depot duties as required.

What You'll Bring

• A current LF Forklift Licence – essential.
• Previous forklift experience, ideally within transport, freight, warehousing or logistics.
• Experience loading and unloading trucks and trailers.
• A strong understanding of workplace safety and safe freight handling.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
• A current HC or MC Driver Licence would be highly advantageous, providing additional flexibility to support operational requirements when required.
• Ability to undertake manual handling as part of the role.
