Job summary

Townsville yard is seeking a hands-on Yardie / Forklift Operator to join a well-established transport company in Townsville. You will operate forklifts and front-end loaders (tickets preferred), load/unload trucks, move materials, and keep the yard clean and organized. This is a full-time role with Monday to Friday and occasional Saturday in the busy season.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence required or highly desirable.
• Front-End Loader ticket and Bobcat ticket desirable but not essential.
• Physically fit, hands-on and able to perform manual labour.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
• Team-oriented with a safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and mobile equipment around the yard.
• Use front-end loaders and Bobcats if certified.
• Load and unload trucks and move materials around the yard.
• Perform general yard duties and keep areas clean and organized.
• Assist the wider team as needed and perform manual labour when required.
• Shovel grain and assist with other tasks during busy periods.

Yardie / Forklift Operator

Looking for a hands-on yardie who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty?

We are currently looking for a Yardie / Forklift Operator to join a well-established transport company in Townsville.

The Role

You’ll be working around the yard, operating forklifts and mobile equipment while also helping keep the yard clean, organised and running efficiently.

Your day may include:

• Operating forklifts
• Operating front-end loaders and Bobcats (if you have the tickets)
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Moving materials around the yard
• General yard duties
• Shovelling grain and manual labour when required
• Cleaning and maintaining the yard
• Helping the wider team wherever needed

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

• Physically fit and hands-on
• Reliable and punctual
• Happy to jump in and get the job done
• Comfortable doing manual work when required
• Experienced operating forklifts
• Confident working around a busy transport yard
• Safety-conscious
• A team player with a good attitude

Highly desirable:

• Forklift licence
• Front-End Loader ticket (desirable but not essential)
• Bobcat ticket (desirable but not essential)
• Previous transport, yard or logistics experience

You don't need to be afraid of a shovel! We're looking for someone who understands that a good yard operator does whatever is needed to keep the place running smoothly.
