Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action in Corryong, VIC is seeking a Forest and Fire Operations Officer - Technical Lead. The role focuses on coordinating field-based forest, fire and land management activities across public land, while guiding and supporting field crews.

You will mentor staff, assist with work planning and operational records, and contribute to bushfire response and recovery operations to protect communities and environments in Victoria.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge or experience working in bushfire response or forest operations is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience and understanding in natural resource management, preferably with good knowledge of forest management and forest operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver field-based forest, fire and land management activities across public land.
• Lead field crews and supervise work planning and safety.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to staff.
• Contribute to bushfire response and recovery operations and manage operational records.
